Dr. Lana Wilson
Owner/ Veterinarian
Dr. Lana Wilson was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan and attended the Agriculture and Veterinary colleges in Saskatoon. Lana moved to Alberta in 1998 and worked in a mixed animal practice in Peace River before moving to Central Alberta in 2001. She has owned Parkland Veterinary Hospital since 2007. Her work passions are skin and eye conditions in pets. She enjoys the daily interactions with staff and clients to keep the animals in her care healthy. Lana is a member of the ABVMA, the Canadian Academy of Veterinary Dermatologists and attends the World Congress of Veterinary Dermatologists.
In her spare time Lana enjoys hiking the outdoors and spending time with her three children.
Dr. Sarah Haefliger
Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Haefliger grew up on a dairy farm outside of Lacombe. Her interest in science and animals led her to complete a BSc in immunology and infection at the University of Alberta. Following her degree, she spent a couple years working and travelling throughout Europe. She then completed her DVM degree at the University of Calgary in 2020. After 4 years working as a mixed animal practitioner, she joined the team at Parkland Veterinary Hospital. Her special interests include small animal medicine, soft tissue surgery and pathology.
Outside of work, she can be found running, hiking, visiting friends and family as well as travelling!
Dr. Mirjam Stigter
Veterinarian
Dr. Mirjam Stigter graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She grew up on a farm east of Gull Lake and now lives in the Bentley area with her husband on their own acreage. After practicing at a mixed animal clinic for a year, she joined the clinic at Parkland Veterinary Hospital in August 2020. Her veterinary interests include preventative medicine in all species. In her spare time, Mirjam enjoys being outdoors, spending time time with her husband, going for walks, and biking. She also has 3 barn cats who have turned into indoor cats.
Dr. Mickayla Murray
Veterinarian
Dr. Mickayla Murray grew up on an acreage in Red Deer which is where she developed her love for animals. In 2020, she completed her BSc in Zoology from the University of Calgary. After moving to Ireland, she graduated with an honours degree in Veterinary Medicine from University College Dublin in 2025. Mickayla prioritizes inclusivity and fear free medicine. She also has special interests in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine and cardiology.
When away from work, she enjoys spending time with family & friends, going to the mountains, and snuggling her pets at home.
Dr. Hayley Biederbeck
Veterinarian
Dr. Hayley has wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember—ever since she first learned what a veterinarian was. She pursued that dream with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Winnipeg before graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in Saskatoon in 2010.
Dr. Hayley is passionate about providing exceptional medical care and treats every patient as if they were her own. She is known for the strong bonds she builds with both her patients and their families, fostering lasting relationships based on trust and compassion.
Her professional interests include abdominal ultrasound, internal medicine—particularly endocrinology—and soft tissue surgery. She provides care for rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and of course dogs and cats. She is also Fear Free Certified.
Originally from rural Manitoba, Dr. Hayley fell in love with the mountains the first time she saw them and has proudly called Red Deer home since 2010. She lives with her husband, who is also a veterinarian, their two children, a retired service dog named Mola, who has accompanied her to speak at countless schools and career days, and a goofy doodle/yeti named Stilton.
Dr. Hayley spends her winters on the ski hill doing her best to keep up with her children, who compete in alpine ski racing. In the summer, she enjoys spending time in her garden and finding every excuse to be outdoors. She and her husband are year round world travellers, and are happy to be able to share the travel bug with their kids, routinely taking them to the far corners of the globe.
